Peasant Pasta

Peasant Pasta for dinner tonight. Bish didn't love the addition of red wine. Still, yummy dinner always a favorite in our house. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/peasant-pasta-recipe/index.html

Slanted Door - San Francisco

The amazing thing about Slanted Door is how popular it is on a random Tuesday night.  We couldn't get over how many people were there.  Trish, Molly, and Jeannie and I decided a few months ago when we had dinner in the city that we would not make the trip again without a reservation at a restaurant that makes it worth it.  We started brainstorming the San Francisco restaurants that we wanted to try or revisit and the first on our list was Slanted Door in the Ferry Building.  SUPER good eats but even better company.  I absolutely love these "girls" nights filled with yummy food, all of life's details, and Trish's inappropriate humor that has us all rolling!! I didn't think I liked spare ribs but Trish convinced me to try them and they were awesome! Trish had these last time and insisted on ordering them.  The crispy shallots made the dish. The waitress spilled water on my phone so I got complementary Cotton Candy.  So fun!!

The Great White Shark becomes the Great Striped Shark

I couldn't be more excited about the incredible job Vinyl Styles did on my new stripes this weekend.  Absolutely surpassed my wildest dreams!!!

Bish Escaped from Alcatraz

A couple weeks ago Bish competed in the Alcatraz Challange.  We spent Saturday night at the Prescott Hotel in Union Square so that we could get up in the middle of the night (sometime around 4:00 AM), head over to the Presidio, and Bish could jump in the Bay.  He's insane if you ask me but he had a great time and even declared it "easy".  I was super proud of him.  This was still pre-injury when Iron Man Hopes were strong.  Right now he's in a boot and with a injured Achilles Tendon trying everything he can to heal his heel and stay in Iron Man shape. We went to Pinocchio's in North Beach for a carb-loaded dinner.  Bish is pretending with my wine.  He's no where near that much fun right now, but at least he can pose as fun :)  He loved the Caesar salad here so much that he wanted to come back the next night for more. He loved this hat they gave him.  I was a little worried that tourists might give him money 'cause it made him look a little homeless

Some dinners I'll make again

Chicken Stir-fry... I used the frozen Jasmine rice from Trader Joe's.  It's so yummy and convenient!!  And Smoked Salmon and Avocado on Scrambled Eggs topped with Chives on Toast.  Next time I'll use Alder Smoked Salmon.

Making my own sushi

Loving this "making my own sushi" thing.  It's so much easier then I ever thought.  The key is ordering sushi rice from the sushi counter at the grocery store.  The BEST is to use frozen tempura and after you cook it up, roll it in!

Boot to Bonnet

I sold my car!!  In three hours no less.  I posted it on Craigslist and that was it.  Three hours later it was driving away and I was holding hundred dollar bills in my hand (I would like to take a moment to thank the good people at Chase for being open on a holiday so that I'm longer holding those presidents on their special holiday!)  The especially good part of selling my car is that my dream car is already on order and the Austrians are kindly building it for me.  I've been tracking it online and have been assured that my Copper is dreaming of zig-zagging the Neighborhood streets of Willow Glen with me...as I have with it. I ordered the new four door in white with a black top and mirrors.  I'm going to decorate it with black white racing strips from boot to bonnet.

Princess Party

This weekend I made crown cupcakes for Maddie Winter's Princess Party.

Coffee with my Fiance

One of my favorite moments every week are those I spend at Starbucks on weekend mornings.  Those moments are especially happy when my Fiance joins me.  Every once and a while I can convince him to sit still for a picture or two...How cute is he!!
