Grammy's Table

My great grandmother had this awesome table that swizzles and turns to full size and half size. I've had it for years and while it's super cool, it's not very pretty anymore. I've been wanting to paint it forever but didn't know where to start. I finally took the project on when my mom was in town to help with Rory while I worked. I love how it turned out but I might reprint the top 'cause I'm not sure I like the antiqued top. I would also like to give it a shinier finish when I find the time.

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

I've been wanting to make Chicken Noodle Soup from scratch forever.  I decided I better make it before Rory gets here.  It was time consuming but yummy and felt great to accomplish it!

Because when you turn 3 you need a purple, ombré, unicorn, cake!

For Reese's third birthday I made her (or maybe I made me) a purple, ombré, unicorn, cake.  I followed a few different recipes and instructions and took lots of pictures so I could either share with you (if you're not me) or remind myself later, how I made it.  I mostly uses this "How to make your own unicorn cake"  tutorial .  It was super helpful! Wednesday: I made the four layers of purple cake.  I used the Cook's Country White Layer Cake   but used almond flavoring and tons of gel food coloring, decreasing the amount for each layer.  I used an 8" round and kept the layers short since I couldn't cut the layers horizontally because they each needed to be a different colors.  I made the recipe twice and divided it each time into two pans.
